The T16 is the best mountain bike frame on the planet. There is nothing out there I’d rather ride. And luckily, I don’t have to.

With ride-height geometry tuned to match the Eponym and a rear shock shoe-horned in, this is the frame I dreamt about for years.

 

After all the details I’ve sweated in pursuit of the perfect frame, the T16 came about almost by accident. To my surprise I was able to fit a linkage-driven single pivot swing arm to the layout of the Eponym frame and not only that but the kinematic it produced was a winner right from the start. I was able to easily tune it up and everything fell into place. It was meant to be.

I had high hopes for my little frame and what it could bring to Dawley, The Business. It turns out that making these things at scale in my workshop, on my own is a hell of a lot of work! Even though I’d taken every step possible to streamline and simplify things (cus simplicity is the ultimate extravagance right?) I just couldn’t keep up with orders. I got super stressed. And I made no money. My first reaction was to just push harder. But the world was telling me not to do this and I accept that now.

The T16 is too much fun for me to have a break down.

So I’ve eased off the pedal on sales. If you’re into this thing as much as I am, please get in touch because I’d love to make you one! The T16 will remain available on a one-off, custom basis. But it can’t be the core of Dawley and perhaps that’s the way it’s supposed to be.
